Stampin’ Up! Retiring items!

We now have a list of items that will retire from not only our Annual Catalog, but also the Occasions Catalog.

This is an annual event we all look forward to.  Good prices on “out with the old”, exciting news on “in with the new”

These items are available while supplies last only, or until May 31.

We hear there are some color changes coming, not just the new in-colors.  And the ink pads have some surprises in store, as well. That’s why we are seeing an especially long retired list this year.

See you soon.

For several years, local Chicago libraries have hired me to conduct card making classes for the general public.  Each class brings me a little closer to knowing more about my new Chicago home, as well as affords me the opportunity to make new friends.

One of the first projects I presented will be updated and presented again this year.  It was a simple little cash holder and envelope.  Starting with Designer Series Paper, we punched a semi circle, scored the paper twice, then folded up the bottom and sealed the sides to create a pocket. We made a simple belly band to hold the folds closed and colored a stamped image with markers.  At the last minute, we thought it would be neat to add a lacy edge to our project.

It was fun to get everyone excited about making a custom envelope for their money holder.  We chose plain white card stock and made a fabulous envelope using the new Envelope Punch Board.  It was so easy!!  We measured our money holder, then found the recommended envelope size on the handy dandy reference table. We followed the cutting, punching and scoring directions, and had a custom envelope in less than five minutes!

For more information on this project, send your request to [email protected], or comment below. There’s still time to make a stack of these and slip your money gifts inside!

Thanks for visiting me and happy stamping!

It’s yummy, feminine, soft and makes me happy.  Mother’s Day is coming soon, and since I’m going to an event tomorrow, and wanted to take swaps, I decided on this card.  A swap is when demonstrators design a card front and then trade with other demonstrators to share ideas.

Using the Big Shot, the Pink Pirouette layer is embossed with the Petals A Plenty embossing folder, then the corners rounded.  The small butterflies are punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch, then embossed in the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; and lastly, the larger butterfly was cut with Fan Fair Designer Series paper and the Big Shot Beautiful Butterflies die.

Here’s a close up of the Butterflies.  I think the pearl embellishments just polish them off perfectly. I used the Word Window and the Modern Label punches for the sentiment and layer; then finished up with some vintage lace trim.

Thanks for looking!
